Why do breasts start to sag as you age... and why that's normal!
As our bodies change, so do our breasts. We gain and lose weight, we get pregnant, we breastfeed, we go through hormonal changes, and we age. All of these factors cause a loss of skin elasticity, a loss of muscle mass, and changes to our connective tissue. The skin on the breasts is usually thinner and more delicate than the rest of the body. All of these factors can cause the breasts to lose volume and firmness over time. It's all part of the natural aging process. This is why PrimaDonna chooses to avoid the term ‘saggy’. There's nothing wrong with relaxed breasts; they just need the right support. This is true for all women, but particularly those with larger breasts.
Can a good bra help prevent loss of firmness?
In our fitting rooms, we hear lots of women complain about loss of volume, but most of these complaints can be solved by the right support. This is the most common fit issue (in addition to breast asymmetry) among women with a larger cup size. Fortunately, professional lingerie stylists know exactly how to address this problem. A bra that fits perfectly around your body will create a lovely, natural shape and will lift your breasts and give them the support they need.
Many women think the support is all in the straps, but the band that runs under the cups and around your back does most of the heavy lifting. That’s why it should be snug, without pinching or digging in. To check that you have the right fit, fasten your bra on the middle hook and see if you can fit three fingers under the clasp. If you can, you're wearing the right band size.
The cups should fit snugly as well, with the upper cups flush with the skin, in order to provide sturdy lift. The cups of PrimaDonna bras are made from soft yet rigid fabric that offers good support. Most also have a sturdy lining or integrated padding to provide larger breasts with the lift they need. If the cups don't lie flat against your skin, they’re probably too big and you should try going down a cup size.

The straps should fit snugly and securely in order to provide the necessary support. Use the sliders to tighten or loosen them until you can fit two fingers between your skin and the strap. If your straps still won't stay put, you may need to replace your bra or try a different style.
Styles that create irresistible cleavage for relaxed breasts
The right bra provides fuller breasts with the support they need and can also create the perfect amount of cleavage for you. Some styles offer more coverage while others are revealing and create incredible cleavage.
Our three-piece underwire bra creates a lovely, rounded shape and offers full coverage. This style is lined in a fabric that lifts and centers the breasts to create a lovely rounded shape. For feminine cleavage, a three-piece style with stretch lace on the upper cups is perfect (like our PrimaDonna Madison series). The stretch lace forms to your body, even if your breasts are different sizes. A win-win!
A PrimaDonna bra with a tulip cut creates full and sensual cleavage, even for more relaxed breasts. The cups have a lower cut than our full-coverage bras and follow the curves of your breasts. They are lined for extra lift and support.
Do you prefer a bra with pre-formed padded cups for the ultimate rounded shape? A bra with padded heart-shaped cups lifts and centers larger breasts and creates feminine cleavage without adding volume.
