Why cup sizes keep getting bigger
The average bra size is on the rise worldwide
Bras in D, E, and F cup are becoming more rule than exception. At PrimaDonna, we’ve seen an increase in the sale of larger cup sizes, both in the United States and Europe. D is the most common cup size in the world and E cup is on the rise in the Netherlands and Germany. In the United States, the average bra size is an F cup. Over the years, PrimaDonna has expanded its sizes to a K cup. We continue to optimize our fits to design stylish lingerie with an impeccable fit for women with a larger cup size.
Unfortunately, a lot of women with larger breasts are still wearing bras that are one or two sizes too small. Some women are ashamed of their bra size or their body, while others think a smaller size will give them more support or make their breasts look smaller. As you know, this isn’t true. Wearing a bra in the right size with the right fit for larger breasts can do wonders for the way you look, the way you feel, and the way you carry yourself.
Why are more and more women turning to plus size bras?
The global rise in the average cup size is due in part to improved welfare and diet, and may also be attributed to hormonal factors. On the other hand, women are becoming more aware of the importance of wearing the right cup size. They are getting professionally measured and seeking the advice of lingerie experts from the moment they buy their first bra. This is a great habit to get into, given that your bra size will invariably change as you get older. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight gain, and weight loss all have an impact your body and your cup size. That’s why it’s important to get measured regularly, ideally every year.
Embracing all cup sizes
In our fitting rooms, we regularly hear women complain about feeling insecure about their bodies or their breasts. For women with larger breasts, these frustrations tend to stem from the fit problems they experienced in the past. Many of these women struggle to find beautiful lingerie in their size. Unfortunately, most women with a larger cup size have experienced straps that dig in, cup gaping, bra spillage, and underwire poke. Just remember: Just because your bra doesn't fit doesn’t mean there's something wrong with your body. It's the bra that's making you feel uncomfortable.
That’s why it's so important to wear a bra that fits your shape. When everything works – the size, the style, and the look – you’ll instantly feel more comfortable and more confident. You’ll be able to move and exercise without discomfort, your lingerie won't leave marks on your skin, and you’ll have a stunning silhouette and the perfect amount of cleavage.
Whether you have small breasts or large breasts, all women deserve to wear beautiful, feminine lingerie that fits like a dream. That why we’ve made it our mission to create lingerie that gives women with a larger cup size the comfortable fit, sturdy support, and feminine style they deserve. Don’t feel insecure about your larger cup size. Treat yourself to beautiful, flirty, or feminine lingerie that makes you feel confident and proud. You deserve it!
